NZ-Samoan Group Building Tahiti Hotel Complex

NZ-Samoan group, Kaitiaki Tagaloa, has been chosen by the French Polynesian government to construct a new $US700m hotel and accommodation complex in Tahiti.

The construction process will employ 2,500 people, and a further 3,000 full-time jobs will be hired when hotel operations are underway. The project consists of four hotels and two condominiums, together boasting over 1,500 rooms.

“This is a real opportunity for the Polynesian consortium. A thousand years ago, our ancestors left Taputapuatea; today we come back,” said Tuku Morgan, the representative of the Iwi International Group.

Nothing is definitive yet, but the group plans to work with large hotel chains that are not already prevalent in the Pacific region.
